Process Modeling/Mapping for Lean Six Sigma Teams

Course Code:       MHC-2010 Delivery Type:   Classroom
Course Length :   2 Days Price:                $595.00

Process/Activity Modeling is a structured activity modeling technique focused on defining the various decisions made and activities performed in the creation of an organization's products or services. It is essential in understanding "What" work is being done in the organization. Process Mapping is a structured technique that focuses on "How" that work is performed. Process Modeling/Mapping analysis aids an organization in determining what activities it should, and should not, be doing, thus focusing it on the "Right Things".

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed to provide the student an understanding of how Process/Activity Modeling is applied to an organization as part of any process improvement effort, including Lean, Six Sigma, and reengineering. Activity Modeling is a critical step in the "Measure" phase of the DMAIC methodology and is used to not only document the baseline process activities, but the flow of the process and determining the cost of activities. The workshop provides a solid foundation for anyone involved in, or interested in, the design, implementation, or application of Process/Activity Modeling/Mapping during a Lean, Six Sigma, or reengineering project.

How You Will Benefit

  • Learn how to model, map, and analyze the core business processes of an organization using the IDEF and BPMN family of modeling techniques and tools.
  • Learn how you can participate as a member of a multidisciplinary Process Modeling/Mapping team.
  • Participate in case study to apply the learned skills (case study will consist of the organization's current process modeling effort).

What You Will Cover

  • An Overview of Process Modeling/Mapping using IDEF0 and the new Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
  • Relationship between Activity Modeling, Process Mapping and Lean Six Sigma (LSS)
  • Participate in Case Study using actual Process Modeling software (KBSI's AI0Win).
