| Who Should Attend |
Appropriate attendees for this course are those students who are or will be members of the study team conducting the SBSP. The team members should consist of key functional personnel and information systems managers, led by a top management representative. It is also recommended that the executive sponsor attend this training with the team. |

The Strategic Business Systems Planning (SBSP) course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of the techniques necessary to conduct a comprehensive study to identify an organization's current and projected requirements for information. This course provides an in-depth look at the various steps that make up the Strategic Business Systems Planning (SBSP) model and how they relate to the overall goal of identifying and planning for an organization's information requirements. Topics include:
- Mission analysis (strategic planning)
- How to identify and define organizational processes, information classes, and data entities
- How to integrate these components into a workable information model, and eventually an information architecture.
- An introduction to techniques used to analyze collected data, preparing the report, and what follow-up actions are necessary, including an overview of IDEF activity and data modeling.
